Boots for Africa gift

T-Man and his new Football Boots

Mr and Mrs Higton visited our Mainstream shop during the World Cup this year.  On reading one of the articles we display, T-Bags for Africa, they decided to visit us at our workshop.  The reason for their need to visit us? They were ‘on a mission’ for Sheffield Football Club in England.  The ‘mission’ was to distribute football boots for a charity called ‘Boots for Africa’!   They had 4 pairs of boots looking for a home!!  We knew exactly what to do with them as one of our members of staff is the trainer for Hout Bay United.  T-Man Vava started the football team in back in 2002 and they play in the Good Hope League.  The team of 21 practices 3 days a week under the watchful eye of  T-Man and his assistant trainer.  Two pairs of boots went to them and the other 2 pairs were handed over to Kevin Alterthum who runs a football training group for the youth of Imizamo Yethu   You can see by the smile he has in this picture T-Man is very pleased!!
